A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin

Re-read

This is my absolute favorite of all time fantasy series. As of right now, the author is (still) not done with the next book (5th) but I'm sure it will be wonderful. I read this book for the first time in high school and have re-read it at least 4 times. It is so detailed that I with each rereading it helps me remember more of the details.

The brilliance of this series is in that there is no main character (there are more important characters) the are no "good guys" (but there are better guys) and that no one is safe from death - important, better characters die. The story is complex and the people seem more real than other books.
