This was a book club selection (my pick actually) it was a book that I have seen around, heard people talking about but knew nothing about.
The story setting was so interesting to me - depression, prohibition and the circus all in one story, things that I enjoyed reading about. The story was told mainly in flash backs which sometimes I do not like but in this book, I think it helped me to actually care more about the character than I would have otherwise.
Most of the book club selections end up being depressing books but this one was refreshing. it was not all happy but it was good and it had a happy ending. (I loved the ending)
This is a book that I would recommend to others, In fact I plan on passing on my copy of it.
